Job summary

Leonardo UK is seeking a Lead Manufacturing Engineering Specialist to shape advanced defence manufacturing, directing engineering across lifecycle stages and driving manufacturing readiness in close partnership with design teams.

Travel to Edinburgh, Basildon and Southampton is expected, with hybrid working available. A Chartered Engineer status and strong data-driven decision making are essential to deliver innovative, high‑quality manufacturing solutions for complex products.

Qualifications

• Registration as a Chartered Engineer or other professional body.
• In-depth understanding of manufacturing and test processes and principles.
• Ability to influence and negotiate using data and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist input into project teams to deliver technically sound solutions.
• Lead and deliver manufacturing engineering sections of plans and governance through lifecycle management.
• Analyse trends and feedback to improve manufacturing and testing processes.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify and exploit manufacturing innovations.
• Mentor junior team members and support customer engagements and roadmaps.
