Job summary

Leonardo in Edinburgh seeks a Project Engineering Manager to lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team across UK defence contracts. You will drive delivery, manage resources within budget, and report on milestones and performance to customers and partners.

The role requires strong leadership, stakeholder management, and a track record in development, production and support, including military certification processes. Hybrid working options are available.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership and motivation of multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong communication and negotiation with internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience in multi-contractual support environments.
• Ability to build trusted relationships across collaborations.
• Solid engineering background with development, production and support exposure.
• Track record in certification and release of military equipment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as customer facing engineering delivery representative for internal and external clients.
• Plan, lead, monitor and report engineering activities to ensure delivery success.
• Monitor resource expenditure to stay within budget and cost effective bounds.
• Provide internal/external engineering performance reporting and contract milestones.
• Identify and manage risks, issues and opportunities for the portfolio.
• Mentor engineers and foster continuous improvement within the team.
• Support bid and proposal activities with engineering solutions and estimates.
