Job summary

Aldwych Consulting is recruiting a Junior Electrical Engineer in Birmingham to support electrical building services design across healthcare, commercial, education and residential sectors. The role offers hybrid working and exposure to projects from concept to completion with an experienced team.

You will gain experience in design calculations, specifications, tender documentation and coordination with BIM and sustainability teams while developing your technical skills.

Qualifications

• Previous professional experience in electrical engineering or building services is required.
• Degree, HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• Knowledge of software such as AutoCAD, Amtech, Dialux or similar.
• Revit competency is desirable.
• Understanding of building regulations and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Support the design of electrical building services across sectors (power, lighting, small power).
• Assist with electrical design calculations and technical reports.
• Support the preparation of specifications and tender documentation.
• Coordinate designs with mechanical, sustainability and BIM teams.
• Attend design team meetings, client meetings and site visits.
• Support projects through the different RIBA stages.
• Contribute to energy‑efficient and low‑carbon design solutions.
• Work across healthcare, commercial, education and residential projects.
