Job summary

Experian is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Decisioning Software team in Nottingham. This hybrid role (40% in office) focuses on Java-based development, building scalable decisioning features and contributing to the full software lifecycle.

You'll collaborate with Product Owners, Engineers, Architects and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality, well-tested code. Prior experience with Agile teams and Git is valued, along with understanding of automated testing and modern backend

Qualifications

Experience programming with Java.
Understanding of object-oriented design principles and software engineering best practices.
Experience working with source control systems such as Git.
Experience working within Agile development teams.
Understanding of automated testing and quality engineering practices.

Responsibilities

Design, develop and maintain software primarily using Java.
Build new features and enhance existing capabilities within Experian's decisioning platforms.
Work closely with Product Owners, Engineers, Architects and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
Contribute to the full software development lifecycle, from design through to deployment and support.
Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code.
Participate in code reviews and technical discussions.
Investigate and resolve production issues when required.
Support continuous improvement initiatives across engineering practices, tooling and processes.
