Job summary

Barbour is seeking a Junior IT Support Analyst to join the Infrastructure and Security Team at our South Shields head office. You will provide 1st/2nd line and desktop support across multiple sites globally, aiming for first-time fixes and ownership through resolution.

Responsibilities include incident management, hardware support, user account handling, and basic network tasks. The role offers hybrid working, training opportunities, and staff benefits.

Qualifications

• Ideally a recognised IT qualification (e.g. Microsoft certification, ITIL)
• Basic understanding of Helpdesk/Service Desk logging and ticketing systems
• OS knowledge: Windows, macOS (OSX), iOS; server/desktop/mobile
• Understanding of user accounts, permissions, and Active Directory
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Outlook, MS Teams, anti-virus and security endpoints
• Desktop hardware knowledge and imaging (Windows/macOS)
• Basic IP networking, networking devices, and security awareness
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent organisational and communication abilities

Responsibilities

• Provide 1st/2nd line IT and technology support globally
• Manage incidents through to resolution via ticketing system
• Perform advanced problem analysis and investigations
• Keep up to date with hardware/software technologies
• Ensure licensing terms are followed for software
• Maintain and support hardware including printers
• Communicate outages to the business
• Collaborate with service providers and vendors
• Promote continuous improvement and best practices
