Zusammenfassung

Robert Walters is recruiting for an experienced IT Operations & Security Engineer in London to manage and improve IT infrastructure, cybersecurity and resilience. The role covers cloud/on-prem environments, governance, and supplier management within a hybrid working setup.

The successful candidate will have strong Azure/M365, AD and Intune/SCCM experience, plus PowerShell automation and Defender security expertise.

Qualifikationen

• Strong experience in IT infrastructure engineering, operations and technical support.
• Hands-on experience administering Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Strong knowledge of Active Directory, identity management and associated Microsoft technologies.
• Experience with Microsoft Intune, SCCM and endpoint management.
• Experience with VMware vSphere, server infrastructure and virtualised environments.
• Good understanding of network infrastructure, cloud services and hybrid IT environments.
• Experience with PowerShell scripting and infrastructure automation.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, vulnerability management, endpoint security and incident response.
• Experience supporting Microsoft Defender or comparable security technologies.
• Familiarity with IT service management processes, including incident, change and problem management.

Aufgaben

• Manage, maintain and support IT infrastructure across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Support Azure, M365, and AD and related enterprise technologies.
• Administer endpoint management solutions including Intune and SCCM.
• Support VMware vSphere, server, storage and virtualization infrastructure.
• Monitor system availability and performance to identify improvements.
• Triage and resolve infrastructure incidents.
• Migrate and upgrade infrastructure and execute technical projects.
• Implement and maintain IT security policies, standards and procedures.
• Monitor security alerts using SIEM and EDR tools.
• Maintain endpoint protection and threat detection, including Defender.
• Coordinate vulnerability scanning, patch management and remediation.
• Support Cyber Essentials Plus certification and security compliance.
• Contribute to security risk assessments, audits and improvements per frameworks.
• Identify security risks and propose mitigations.
• Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate administration.
• Seek opportunities to improve efficiency through automation.
• Contribute to implementing new technologies and infrastructure.
• Maintain technical documentation and configurations.
• Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
• Assist with backup, recovery and resilience testing.
• Ensure critical systems can be restored after incidents.
• Work with third-party IT suppliers and MSPs to ensure service delivery.
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues.
• Collaborate with internal teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Provide technical guidance to colleagues and stakeholders.
• Deputise for IT Operations & Security Manager when required.
• Follow ITIL-aligned incident, problem and change management processes.
• Maintain compliance with internal IT policies and security standards.
• Support IT audits, risk assessments and operational reporting.
• Contribute to continuous improvement across IT operations and security.
