Job summary

Braintree District Council is seeking an ICT Security Analyst to join the ICT Team in a hands-on role protecting systems, networks and data from cyber threats. You will monitor security, respond to incidents, and help implement robust security controls across the Council's IT environment.

The role involves contributing to security awareness, Microsoft 365 administration, and ITIL-compliant change management, with hybrid working arrangements and a focus on continuous improvement and collaboration

Qualifications

• Level 5 Cyber Security qualification or equivalent experience.
• Experience managing security technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, AV).
• Sound understanding of network and OS security.

Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for ICT security issues and coordinate cyber security response.
• Deliver excellent communications and customer service to all users.
• Ensure ITIL and change management processes are followed and documented.
• Identify emerging threats and work with partners to keep defence up to date.
• Support the design and delivery of cyber security training for staff and councillors.
• Maintain security architecture, monitoring and incident response procedures.
