Job summary

Braintree District Council is seeking an ICT Security Analyst to join our ICT Team in the heart of Braintree. You will monitor security systems, investigate threats, implement controls and maintain incident response procedures across Council systems and data.

Working within ITIL and change management, you’ll provide support to colleagues, design security measures, and help deliver cyber security awareness and training for staff and councillors.

Qualifications

• Level 5 qualification in Cyber Security or equivalent level of experience.
• Experience managing and supporting security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection, anti‑virus, authentication, log management and content filtering.
• Sound understanding of network and operating system security.

Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for ICT security issues, coordinating the Council’s cyber security response.
• Deliver excellent communications and customer service to all service users, including employees, members and other customers.
• Keep cyber security documentation up to date and review regularly, supporting the ICT team with ITIL and change management processes.
• Support O365 administration, regular infrastructure, system and application updates and user support.
