Job summary

Carmichael UK is seeking a proactive MEP Design Manager for a major London infrastructure project, delivering HVAC-focused MEP packages across HS2’s London Tunnels. You will own design from detailed design through completion, coordinating supply chain designers and securing approvals.

The role requires strong design leadership, stakeholder engagement and an ability to manage complex interfaces within a nationally significant programme. Hybrid working is offered.

Qualifications

• Degree or professional qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Proven experience managing MEP design packages with HVAC focus.
• Experience delivering detailed MEP design within major infrastructure projects.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead Stage 5 MEP design package delivery with quality and compliance.
• Manage HVAC design suppliers and interfaces with designers, contractors and stakeholders.
• Drive design reviews, approvals, assurance and certification.
• Identify and resolve design issues, gaps and interface risks.
• Ensure compliance with CDM, project and engineering requirements.
• Monitor design progress and communicate risks to delivery and commercial teams.
• Support Stage 4 design queries, defects and changes.
• Collaborate with MEP Package Managers, engineers and suppliers for delivery.
