Job summary

Blackburn with Darwen Council is seeking an experienced HR Consultant/Advisor to join the busy Resources team. The role focuses on absence and performance management, and complex discipline and grievance cases, with up-to-date employment law knowledge required.

The post offers hybrid working and flexi-time; base at the Town Hall, Blackburn, with potential transfer as local government reorganisation progresses.

Qualifications

• Must hold Level 5 CIPD qualification and up-to-date employment law knowledge.
• Experience advising managers on absence, performance and disciplinary matters.
• Ability to arrange informal and formal meetings and hearings.

Responsibilities

• Provide HR support and advice to managers within Resources.
• Assist with absence management, performance management and complex disciplinary cases.
• Advise and influence managers to ensure policy adherence.
• Arrange meetings and hearings, both informal and formal, as required.
