Job summary

Leeds City Council is seeking a Housing Assistant (FTA) to join the Former Tenants Arrears Team at Merrion House. The role focuses on recovering former tenancy arrears and delivering a professional customer service within Housing Management.

You will work in a small team, communicate with colleagues and partners, and use IT tools to process enquiries and manage repayments, with a flexible hybrid arrangement where possible.

Qualifications

• Good communication skills and ability to develop and maintain relationships across the council and partners.
• Experience of debt collection practices and managing methods of repayment.
• Ability to use IT applications and databases to deliver tasks (Word, Excel, databases).

Responsibilities

• Debt Recovery for Former Tenants Arrears.
• Provide administrative support to the team.
