Job summary

Carrington West is seeking an experienced Highway Engineer in West Yorkshire for a 6-month contract with hybrid working. You will own highway design, safety and project delivery, hitting the ground running with minimal supervision.

The role requires delivering capital schemes and managing health and safety risks across projects. Key responsibilities include highway design, technical advisory, TRO work, and effective liaison with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering highway safety schemes.
• Knowledge of DMRB and MMHW.
• Public-sector highways environment experience.
• Strong AutoCAD capability.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and delivery of capital highway schemes of varying size and complexity.
• Provide highway engineering design, technical advice and project management.
• Develop highway safety schemes in accordance with DMRB and MMHW.
• Prepare practical design solutions against defined project briefs using AutoCAD.
• Project manage small to medium-sized highway schemes through delivery.
• Identify and manage health and safety risks throughout design and construction.
• Undertake highway safety and TRO work in response to public and stakeholder concerns.
