University of Bath is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Audit & Assurance Manager to lead the university's audit programme and drive continuous improvement across the institution.

You will design and deliver a risk-based audit programme, challenge management, and provide independent assurance to senior leaders and governance committees. Hybrid working is available on a rota basis.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience auditing health and safety management within a large organisation.
• Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and its practical application.
• Experience developing, delivering and managing risk-based audit programmes.
• Excellent analytical, report-writing and communication skills.
• Ability to present complex information clearly to senior stakeholders.
• Proven influencing and relationship-building abilities.
• Experience working with regulatory bodies or external stakeholders.

Responsabilités

• Design, deliver and continuously improve the health and safety audit and assurance programme.
• Provide independent assurance and practical support to strengthen safety performance.
• Produce evidence-based audit reports highlighting good practice and areas for improvement.
• Support faculties and services in developing proportionate improvement plans.
• Monitor audit actions to completion and report progress to governance bodies.
• Identify themes and opportunities for organisational learning from audits.
