The University of Bath is seeking a proactive and experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead health and food safety across its Campus Services department. Reporting across Cleaning, Grounds, Portering, Mail, Security, Retail and Hospitality, you will protect staff, students, visitors and contractors by implementing strategy, conducting risk assessments, audits and training.

The role is permanent and full-time in Bath, with opportunities to influence a wide range of campus activities and foster

Formación

• NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) or willingness to achieve within six months.
• In-depth knowledge of health and safety legislation and compliance requirements.
• At least two years' experience in inspections, auditing and report writing.
• Experience of delivering training or raising safety awareness.
• Strong communication, organisational and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to interpret audit findings and performance data to drive practical improvements.
• Collaborative approach and commitment to developing a positive safety culture.

Responsabilidades

• Lead development and implementation of the Campus Services Health & Safety Strategy.
• Provide expert guidance on health and food safety legislation, policies and procedures.
• Oversee risk assessments, safety audits, inspections and incident investigations.
• Monitor food safety compliance including HACCP, allergen management and hygiene standards.
• Analyse safety performance data and produce reports to drive improvements.
• Deliver training and support staff development to promote safety culture.
• Collaborate with University teams, contractors and external regulators.
