Job summary

Smile Digital is seeking an experienced Operations & Delivery Manager to lead operations, delivery and commercial performance from Glasgow, with a hybrid setup (3 days in the office). The role focuses on owning processes, people, resource and profitability across a project-based agency environment.

You will work closely with senior leadership, finance and delivery teams to ensure work is planned, resourced and delivered efficiently, while developing broader ownership in delivery and commercial

• Strong operational and delivery background in a project-based environment.
• Ability to manage processes, people, and performance with commercial focus.
• Comfortable working with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Keep key operational activity, reporting, meetings and actions running smoothly.
• Improve processes, systems and ways of working across the business.
• Take ownership of resource and capacity planning across the Studio.
• Give teams visibility around workload, capacity and priorities.
• Work with project and client teams to ensure work is scoped, planned and resourced effectively.
• Monitor utilisation, recoverability, overservicing and overall project performance.
• Identify areas where margin is being lost and implement improvements.
• Collaborate with Finance to connect operational activity with commercial performance.
• Improve management information and reporting for leadership visibility.
• Strengthen project set-up, handovers, delivery controls, and project close-out.
• Help teams understand the commercial impact of time, resource and scope decisions.
• Identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies and recurring delivery issues.
• Improve adoption of systems, processes and ways of working.
• Bring greater consistency and accountability to how work is managed and delivered.
• Manage and support an Operations Executive.
