Job summary

iwoca is seeking a Full-stack Engineer for the Operations Engineering Team in London. You will build the systems powering iwoca’s German business, owning projects end-to-end and shaping how internal teams operate.

You’ll design full-stack services supporting underwriting, notifications, and account management, using Python, React, and TypeScript. You’ll join a small cross-functional team and scale systems as the German market grows.

Qualifications

• Proven track record designing and building backend systems using Python, with the ability to work across front-end codebases, particularly React or TypeScript, to deliver projects end to end.
• Experience using AI in daily flow to automate boilerplate and accelerate complex tasks.
• Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) focusing on performance and maintainability.
• Ability to anticipate challenges and improve existing systems for complex workflows.
• Track record of taking work from problem to delivery, including shaping solutions and iteration.
• Strong communication to explain technical topics and influence decisions.
