Job summary

Kent Fire and Rescue Service is seeking an IT EUC Automation Engineer to enhance efficiency and reliability of end user computing via automation and modern endpoint-management practices. The role focuses on Intune, MECM, and related tooling, with collaboration across IT teams to reduce routine EUC workload.

The successful candidate will own EUC automation improvements, ensuring scalable and well-documented processes that support service improvement and lifecycle management.

Qualifications

• Enterprise endpoint management within a medium or large organisation.
• Microsoft Intune and MECM/SCCM, or equivalent enterprise endpoint-management technologies.
• Endpoint configuration, compliance, software deployment, patching, provisioning and device lifecycle management.
• PowerShell and/or other scripting and automation technologies.
• Desirable: Entra ID, Windows Autopilot, M365, Defender for Endpoint and related APIs/automation interfaces.
• Endpoint security, configuration baselines and compliance requirements.
• Experience in enterprise endpoint environments and improving Intune/MECM/SCCM platforms.
• Developed PowerShell or similar automation; migration towards cloud-managed endpoints is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work within the EUC function with a remit for automation, optimisation and continuous improvement of endpoint-management processes.
• Collaborate with DevOps, Infrastructure, Development, Applications, Cyber Security and Service Delivery teams.
• Develop, implement and maintain automation for endpoint configuration, compliance, remediation, provisioning, app deployment and lifecycle management.
• Ensure automation is reliable, documented and maintainable by the permanent EUC team.
• Identify and automate repetitive, manual, error-prone or inefficient EUC processes.
• Design, test, implement and maintain automation using Intune, MECM and scripting (PowerShell).
• Handle exceptions and ensure failures can be investigated and recovered from without increasing risk.
