Carrington West seeks an experienced Contract Estimator for marine and civil works in Sittingbourne. The 4-6 week contract is hybrid—three days on client site and two days remote—start immediate.

The role focuses on accurate cost estimation, tender support and proactive collaboration with project teams. The successful candidate will have strong estimating expertise in marine/civil sectors, robust cost breakdowns, and a practical approach to risk and value engineering.

Formación

• Experience as an estimator in civil/marine projects.
• Solid grasp of estimating processes, cost planning and tender prep.
• Able to interpret drawings, specs and tender docs.
• Knowledge of marine works or civil infrastructure activities.
• Strong numerical, analytical and commercial skills with detail focus.
• Independent worker with tight deadlines and immediate impact.
• Good communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Available to start quickly and commit to 4–6 weeks.
• Able to attend Sittingbourne three days per week.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare accurate, competitive cost estimates for marine and civil projects.
• Review tender docs, drawings, specs and scope of works.
• Undertake quantity take-offs and cost material, labour, plant, subcontractors.
• Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Identify commercial risks and cost-saving opportunities.
• Support tender submissions with comprehensive, timely estimates.
• Liaise with PMs, engineers, commercial teams and suppliers to validate costs.
• Maintain records of estimating assumptions, exclusions and pricing.
