Job summary

Talk Recruitment is seeking an Estimator for a major contractor in Yorkshire. The role focuses on producing accurate cost plans, taking-off quantities, and supporting preconstruction to secure tender projects.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team across design and procurement, ensuring compliance with budgets and deadlines. The successful candidate will have building sector experience, relevant qualifications, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the Building Sector.
• Experience as Assistant Estimator, Estimator, Senior Estimator or similar.
• Experience in building sector projects such as Commercial, Leisure, Mixed Use, Residential, Hotels or Healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all costs on the project align with scope, customer requirements and current legislation.
• Collaborate with preconstruction to secure and convert tender projects.
• Create robust cost plans through design gateways up to target price.
• Guide design teams and inform customers on affordability.
• Identify opportunities and risks with value-adding solutions.
• Value alternative design solutions and present cost implications to customers.
• Carry out cost assessments on design changes between RIBA stages.
