Job summary

Approach Personnel Ltd is recruiting for an experienced Construction Estimator for a full-time, permanent role in the East Midlands. Salary up to £75,000 depending on experience.

You will prepare detailed estimates, read drawings, obtain quotes, and support project delivery across clients and subcontractors. The ideal candidate has proven estimating experience in commercial or industrial construction, strong maths and communication skills, and proficiency with estimating software and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Experience as an Estimator in commercial or industrial construction.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials and processes.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and project documentation.
• Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant estimating software.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, tender pricing and bid submissions.
• Review and interpret drawings, specifications and project documentation.
• Obtain, assess and analyse supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Carry out quantity take-offs and detailed cost analysis.
• Identify and highlight commercial and project risks.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Support the handover of successful projects to the delivery team.
• Ensure estimates are accurate, commercially competitive and submitted within deadlines.
