Job summary

Trafford Council is recruiting an Estates Surveyor to join the Greater Manchester Empty Homes and Leasing Programme. You will identify vacant properties, assess condition and repair needs, and negotiate agreements to secure 16 properties for Temporary Accommodation across Trafford.

This is a fixed term role ending 31 March 2029, on a 36.25-hour week with hybrid working. You will report to the Principal Estates Surveyor and work with Housing and Estates teams to deliver results.

Qualifications

• Degree plus relevant professional qualification (e.g., MRICS).
• Knowledge of commercial property management and public sector processes.
• Experience working with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to drive projects and manage multiple properties.

Responsibilities

• Identify suitable vacant properties for Temporary Accommodation.
• Assess condition, negotiate agreements, and manage reporting.
• Coordinate with Housing and Estates teams to deliver targets.
