Job summary

Thales Group in Reading – Hybrid is seeking an Electronics Engineer to develop and bring up electronic circuit assemblies from concept to qualification. The role involves working with a cross-functional team across systems, mechanical and software domains to deliver robust defence-grade electronics.

You will contribute to design documentation, test plans and design reviews, while growing your skills in a dynamic environment with exposure to complex defence products and security requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience of electronic/electrical design in a real-world environment.
• Use of schematic capture packages (Cadence, Mentor Graphics or similar).
• Practical lab work (soldering, circuit testing, cable assembly, debug).
• Experience testing at circuit board and system level (board bring-up, EMC testing).
• Understanding of engineering processes and design lifecycles.

Responsibilities

• Undertake design of electronic circuit assemblies from concept through design, test and system integration.
• Engage with a multi-disciplinary team to develop optimum solutions.
• Ensure products meet all requirements and assist in peer reviews.
• Generate design documentation, test plans and records.
• Report progress against cost, schedule and performance.
