Job summary
ConSol Partners in West Sussex is seeking a Principal Electronics Engineer to lead the electronics function within a 15-strong engineering team in a defence industry environment. Hybrid working and a competitive salary are on offer.
You'll shape design strategy, drive R&D innovation, support bids and client engagements, and take on a line-management role within a sub-team while ensuring robust electronics and power management across flagship projects.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in defence, industrial, or other demanding engineering environments with electronics
- Strong electronics fundamentals and EMC awareness
- Confident, approachable leadership with the ability to challenge designs and share knowledge
- Solid analytical grounding (circuit emulation, performance/power budgets)
- Capability to identify project risk, manage schedules, and drive root-cause fault resolution at PCB/system level
- Full lifecycle awareness from bid stage through long-term support
