Job summary

PTSG Electrical Safety Division in Gloucester is seeking an Electrical Test & Remedial Engineer to cover regional sites from schools to retail units. You will perform EICRs on commercial/industrial installations and lead remedial work to BS7671 standards.

The role requires fully qualified Electrician with NVQ Level 3/AM2, City & Guilds 2391/2394/2395, and 18th Edition, with a UK driving licence. You will report on faults, deliver clear recommendations, and work with customers on-site.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified Electrician with NVQ Level 3, AM2 or equivalent qualifications.
• City & Guilds 2391/2394/2395 or equivalent inspection/testing qualifications.
• Current 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
• Experience carrying out electrical installation work within commercial environments.
• Fixed wire testing experience would be highly advantageous.
• A full UK driving licence; able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) on commercial and industrial electrical installations.
• Identifying faults, non-compliances and potential risks, then producing high-quality reports with clear recommendations.
• Completing remedial and rectification works following inspections, ensuring BS7671 compliance.
• Producing Minor Works Certificates, Remedial Completion Reports and associated documentation.
• Carrying out additional specialist inspections and testing (emergency lighting, RCD testing, thermographic surveys, distribution board maintenance).
• Working directly with customers on-site, providing a professional service while representing PTSG to a high standard.
• Using modern testing equipment and reporting software to deliver accurate results.
• Staying up to date with industry regulations, standards and best practice.
