Job summary

PTSG Electrical Safety Division is seeking an Electrical Test & Remedial Engineer to cover Barnet with regional site visits to schools, retail units, and other commercial premises. The role involves performing EICRs, identifying faults, and completing remedial works to ensure electrical installations meet current BS7671 standards.

The ideal candidate is a fully qualified electrician with NVQ Level 3/AM2, City & Guilds 2391/2394/2395, and 18th Edition.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified Electrician with NVQ Level 3, AM2 or equivalent qualifications.
• City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/2395 (or equivalent inspection and testing qualifications).
• Current 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
• Experience carrying out electrical installation work within commercial environments.
• Fixed wire testing experience would be highly advantageous.
• A full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) on commercial and industrial electrical installations.
• Identifying faults, non-compliances and potential risks, then producing high-quality reports with clear recommendations.
• Completing remedial and rectification works following inspections to meet BS7671 requirements.
• Producing Minor Works Certificates, Remedial Completion Reports and associated compliance documentation.
• Carrying out additional specialist inspections and testing including emergency lighting, RCD testing, thermographic surveys and distribution board maintenance.
• Working directly with customers on-site, providing a professional service while representing PTSG to the highest standard.
• Using modern testing equipment and reporting software to deliver accurate, efficient results.
• Staying up to date with industry regulations, standards and best practice.
