Job summary

Xylem in the United Kingdom is seeking an Electrical Department Lead Engineer to oversee the day-to-day running of the Electrical Engineering Team and translate client requirements into robust design deliverables for water technologies.

You will mentor engineers, manage design scheduling and budgets, and support pre- and post-contract discussions with clients and subcontractors while ensuring adherence to quality standards and processes.

Qualifications

• A degree in Electrical engineering or equivalent.
• Ability to interpret a wide variety of technical instructions and data.
• Strong problem-solving skills and creativity for new ideas.
• Experience with Electro chlorination packages is desirable.
• Experience with PLC programming is desirable.
• Knowledge of ATEX, IEC Ex, HAZOP is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate client specifications and standards to ensure compliant designs.
• Review electrical data sheets and equipment specifications for procurement.
• Lead design team outputs including control philosophies and schematics.
• Prepare proposal documents and technical reports; liaise with clients and subcontractors.
• Review Process Control Philosophies and Functional Design Specifications.
• Support project FATs on the shop floor and client site.
