Job summary

Gallagher is seeking an experienced Solicitor to join our growing litigation team. You will manage complex EL/PL claims for public sector clients from inception to trial, providing technical guidance and leadership to junior solicitors.

This role calls for strong defendant litigation experience, excellent written and verbal skills, and a proactive, solution-focused approach to delivering exceptional outcomes for clients in the UK.

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor with experience handling defendant EL/PL litigation matters.
• Strong knowledge of personal injury litigation and Civil Procedure Rules.
• Experience managing litigated caseload independently, including multi-track and complex claims.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of litigated EL/PL claims from issue through to trial, including complex fast and multi-track matters.
• Assess liability, quantum and litigation risk, and provide strategic guidance to clients.
• Draft and review legal documentation, instruct counsel and experts, and develop defence strategies.
• Negotiate settlements with claimant representatives, insurers and solicitors to achieve best outcomes.
• Apply Civil Procedure Rules and case law to ensure robust claims handling.
• Maintain strong client relationships with regular updates and high service standards.
• Mentor junior team members and act as a technical referral point when needed.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, SLAs, KPIs and financial procedures.
• Maintain accurate case management records and contribute to team improvements.
