Job summary

City of Doncaster Council is recruiting for three Education Welfare Officer posts to support the Attendance & Pupil Welfare Service from the Civic Office, Doncaster. Roles are primarily term-time with hybrid working and focus on improving education provision for children.

Salary Grade 9: £42,123–£46,579 pro-rata for term-time. Two 2-year fixed-term and one permanent post (Term Time Only). Closing date 11 October 2026; flexible working and DBS checks apply.

Qualifications

• Experience in an Education Welfare Officer role or related education, attendance, safeguarding or family support position.
• Experience with Elective Home Education (EHE) responsibilities and CME/attendance duties.
• Ability to work with families, schools and partner agencies to ensure access to full-time education.

Responsibilities

• Fulfil statutory duties of Local Authority in education welfare and attendance.
• Undertake visits and assessments for Elective Home Education (EHE).
• Contribute to CME and attendance duties where required.
