Anglian Water is seeking a Digital Engineering Manager to lead our Software Engineering Practice and shape the future of software delivery across the organisation. This leadership role combines technical credibility with people leadership and strategic influence to create an environment where engineers can thrive.
You will drive engineering standards, mentor engineers, and partner with Product, Architecture, Cyber, and other DDaT teams to deliver secure, scalable digital products.

- Significant leadership experience in software engineering, within complex tech environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead and continuously develop the Software Engineering Practice.
- Build a strong engineering culture focused on quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Define and evolve engineering standards, guardrails and best practices.
- Partner with Product, Architecture, Cyber, and other DDaT teams to align software products with strategic outcomes.
- Provide leadership and line management for senior software engineers.
- Support workforce planning, capability growth, recruitment and succession planning.
- Champion DevOps, automation, observability, and secure-by-design delivery.
