Job summary

Anglian Water seeks a Head of Engineering to lead strategic engineering across its Major Infrastructure Delivery (MID) portfolio. You will shape design governance, risk management and assurance for major programmes.

The role offers senior leadership within a £2bn investment programme, with hybrid working options and generous benefits. You will report to the MD of MID and partner with engineering directors, delivery teams and external partners to drive innovative, safe and sustainable outcomes

Qualifications

Degree-qualified engineer with professional chartership.
Significant leadership in major infrastructure design or capital programmes.
Proven governance, assurance and risk management experience.
Strong understanding of Design & Build in regulated environments.
Commercial awareness with major contractors and delivery partners.
Strategic thinking and decisive leadership capability.
Ability to provide robust technical challenge across design, construction and commissioning.
Passion for innovation and developing people and capability.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic engineering leadership across Major Infrastructure Delivery.
Lead engineering strategy across a circa £2bn capital investment portfolio.
Champion innovative, sustainable and standardised engineering solutions.
Have responsibility for design assurance, ensuring compliance with standards and CDM.
Lead the resolution of complex engineering and design challenges.
Sponsor digital, data-led and modern methods of construction approaches.
Drive engineering excellence across the supply chain, establishing best practice.
Provide executive leadership for commissioning, temporary works governance and engineering assurance.
Lead innovation and research initiatives, identifying opportunities.
Strengthen safety in design and process safety governance.
Build and develop high-performing engineering teams with succession planning.
