Job summary

A Design Manager position in Corby for a 3-6 month temporary contract. The role sits within a design team and reports to the Head of Design, handling design information across multiple live projects with hybrid working from day one.

You will coordinate drawings, specifications and technical information, liaising with consultants, architects, subcontractors and project teams to keep programmes on track. Strong organisation and stakeholder skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Design Manager within the construction industry.
• Strong design coordination and document management skills.
• Experience working with drawings, specifications and technical information.
• A good understanding of construction processes and project delivery.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities; proficiency in Microsoft Office and common construction design management systems.

Responsibilities

• Managing the design process across 2-3 live construction projects.
• Coordinating design information, drawings and specifications.
• Liaising with consultants, architects, subcontractors and project teams.
• Maintaining design trackers and ensuring information is issued in line with programme requirements.
• Supporting technical design reviews and buildability assessments.
• Identifying and resolving design-related issues throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensuring information is distributed accurately and within agreed timescales.
• Supporting project delivery teams to achieve programme and quality objectives.
