Job summary

Sellick Partnership is seeking an experienced Cyber Security Engineer to join its IT team in the North East on a hybrid footing. You will protect systems, infrastructure and data, monitor threats, and drive security improvements across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Cyber Security or Security Engineering role.
• Knowledge of enterprise security technologies, including firewalls, SIEM, EDR, Microsoft Defender, and vulnerability management tools.
• Experience securing Microsoft Azure environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with security incident response and risk management.
• Industry certifications such as Microsoft SC-200, AZ-500, SC-100, ISC² SSCP, CCSP, or CISSP.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, investigate, and respond to cyber security threats and incidents.
• Manage vulnerability remediation, patching, and endpoint security.
• Implement and maintain secure cloud, network, and endpoint environments.
• Support security governance, audits, compliance, and reporting.
• Contribute to compliance with recognised security standards (e.g. ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials Plus).
• Work with internal teams and third-party suppliers to improve security controls.
• Promote cyber security awareness and continuous improvement across the business.
