Job summary

Carrington West is recruiting an experienced Cost Manager for a major rail infrastructure programme in Birmingham. The role focuses on project controls, forecasting, baseline management and cost analysis across large-scale contracts.

You will manage baselines, challenge contractor forecasts, oversee change control and trend analysis, and report cost performance with strong stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a Cost Manager, Cost Controller, Cost Engineer, or Project Controls role.
• Previous experience working on major infrastructure or construction programmes.
• Strong experience with forecasting, baseline management, and cost analysis
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience using cost management systems such as PRISM or Contruent
• Understanding of change control and trend management
• Experience within rail, highways, nuclear, water, or similar infrastructure sectors

• Focus heavily on project controls, forecasting, baseline management, and cost analysis across large-scale contracts.
• Manage project baselines, challenge contractor forecasts, oversee change control and trend analysis.
• Analyze cost performance across delivery programmes.
• Support stakeholder engagement and reporting on cost status and risks.
