Job summary

New Forest District Council is seeking a proactive Complex Support Worker to join the Homeless Team within the Housing Options Service. You will respond to enquiries about homelessness, assess needs and coordinate with partners to secure stable housing for vulnerable clients.

Experience with homelessness is not essential; we welcome motivated individuals who can work compassionately in a fast-paced environment and support customers through their housing journey, including liaison with landlords

Qualifications

• Strong communication and empathy when dealing with vulnerable clients.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Respond to enquiries from customers, councillors and residents regarding homelessness and rough sleeping across the district.
• Assess situations quickly to identify appropriate support and help customers move towards housing outcomes.
• Engage with Homelessness Team, landlords and partner agencies to facilitate positive housing solutions.
