Job summary

Winsearch is seeking a Systems Engineer for a Reading-based hybrid role. You will support enterprise cloud and on‑prem infrastructure, focusing on Azure, Windows, Linux, and container platforms.

The role involves automation, IaC, and ongoing improvements to reliability, performance and incident response. Ideal candidates have up to three years in infrastructure support and a strong desire to learn new technologies.

Qualifications

• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Engineering or related discipline or equivalent
• Up to three years' experience in infrastructure support, systems administration, cloud support or technical operations
• Understanding of enterprise infrastructure and cloud computing technologies
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
• Strong problem-solving skills and collaborative team work

Responsibilities

• Support administration and operation of cloud and on‑premise infrastructure
• Maintain Windows and Linux environments
• Assist with deployment and management of Azure services
• Support virtualization and hosting platforms
• Assist with Kubernetes/OpenShift administration
• Monitor performance, availability and capacity
• Assist incident resolution and problem management
• Support backup, disaster recovery and business continuity processes
• Implement infrastructure changes per standards
• Contribute to automation and IaC initiatives
• Maintain technical documentation and runbooks
• Collaborate with senior engineers to resolve issues
