Job summary

Employment International is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our Infrastructure & Platform Services team in Reading. The contract role focuses on supporting secure, reliable enterprise infrastructure across Microsoft Azure and on-premises environments, with remote work available initially and 3 days onsite.

The successful candidate will administer Windows Server and Linux, participate in IaC with Terraform and Ansible, and use PowerShell, Bash or Python to automate tasks, ensuring performance,

Qualifications

• 1–3 years in Systems Administration, Infrastructure Support, Cloud Support, or Platform Engineering.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure and on-premises infrastructure.
• SC Clearance or eligible for it.

Responsibilities

• Support Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure
• Administer Windows Server and Linux environments
• Monitor infrastructure performance and availability
• Troubleshoot infrastructure and networking issues
• Assist with backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity
• Contribute to Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Ansible) and automation initiatives
• Networking – TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, Firewalls
• Maintain virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V)
• Infrastructure Monitoring & Troubleshooting
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
