Job summary

BT Group in the UK is seeking a Cloud Engineering Practitioner to design, implement, and optimise cloud solutions across AWS and on‑prem networks. This role requires strategic thinking and strong collaboration with stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable platforms.

You will lead automation initiatives, manage IaC, monitor system health and drive improvements in security posture and cost efficiency while working within a hybrid model across London or Manchester offices.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of cloud networking, security and compliance.
• Experience designing and operating hybrid cloud across AWS and on‑prem networks.
• Production cloud platforms monitoring, incidents and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Executes automation initiatives for cloud provisioning, config management, self‑service and IaC.
• Maintains platform components, monitors health, and troubleshoots issues promptly.
• Influences stakeholders on cloud‑native adoption and platform usage through collaboration.
• Collaborates with QA and technical writers to complete development cycles.
• Scopes and de‑risks development activities with business stakeholders and product owners.
• Troubleshoots customer environments and handles escalations as a technical resource.
• Identifies and remediates security gaps to strengthen posture.
• Analyzes infrastructure vulnerabilities and deployment issues with minimal guidance.
• Continuously shares knowledge on emerging cloud trends and improvements.
