Job summary

Pertemps Gloucester is seeking an experienced Claims Manager to lead a growing claims operation, supporting insurer clients. You will oversee a team of Claims Handlers and Senior Analysts, ensuring service excellence, strong technical standards and robust client outcomes.

You will drive performance, coach and develop staff, manage capacity, monitor SLAs/KPIs and nurture strategic relationships with key insurers. Hybrid working is available in a collaborative, performance-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Significant claims handling experience, ideally within professional indemnity or financial lines.
• Strong technical claims knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation.
• Experience managing or leading a claims team.
• Proven coaching, developing and motivating employees.
• Excellent stakeholder management and client relationship skills.
• Strong commercial awareness and a customer-focused approach.
• Experience improving processes and driving operational efficiencies.
• Exceptional communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of claims professionals.
• Manage workflow, resources and team capacity to ensure service standards are met.
• Build and maintain strong insurer client relationships.
• Monitor service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Deliver technical coaching, training and support across the team.
• Oversee quality assurance, file audits and delegated authority compliance.
• Identify trends, risks and opportunities for process improvement.
• Produce and review management information and client reporting.
• Chair stakeholder meetings and provide strategic account support.
• Promote a culture of excellence, collaboration and continuous improvement.
