Job summary

HSB (UK and Ireland) is seeking a Claims Handler to manage end-to-end claims handling for Commercial, Engineering and Cyber sectors. You will ensure proactive service, with a focus on accuracy, regulatory compliance and timely settlements.

The role emphasizes collaboration with clients, intermediaries and third parties to drive efficient claims resolution while upholding HSB’s service standards and quality benchmarks.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of commercial products, engineering, construction, cyber or specialist commercial risks.
• Experience in claims handling within commercial products and specialist lines.
• Awareness of regulatory, legal and compliance requirements in claims management.
• Strong relationship-building with insurer partners.

Responsibilities

• Deliver end-to-end claims handling from FNOL to settlement with high customer service levels.
• Investigate claims, establish liability, negotiate settlements, and identify recovery opportunities.
• Manage daily workload to meet performance deadlines and ensure adherence to processes.
• Support litigation, mediation and other claims-related legal matters when required.
• Support Claims Technical Manager in maintaining a high-performance culture and adherence to behavioural standards.
• Manage relationships with clients, intermediaries, insureds and third parties to deliver service excellence.
• Ensure appropriate use of third-party suppliers such as Loss Adjusters and Solicitors.
• Ensure regulatory and internal group requirements are met during the claims process.
• Foster a collaborative environment and share ideas to improve performance and customer experience.
