Job summary

NES Fircroft are recruiting a Civil/Structural Design Engineer for a global leader in power technology. The role is based in Manchester with hybrid working, 12-month duration.

You will deliver design solutions for Grid Access Substations and HVDC Converter Stations, coordinating with other disciplines and managing design packages to time and budget. Occasional site visits are expected.

Qualifications

• Civil/Structural design experience required.
• Experience with CDM 2015 regulations.
• Knowledge of UK codes and health/safety regs.
• Experience in power/renewables or related sectors.
• Ability to coordinate across multiple disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Own design and coordination packages from transfer to practical completion.
• Govern design efforts of internal and external designers.
• Ensure third-party designs meet contract requirements and buildability.
• Prepare scope of works and design tender packages.
• Lead design reviews and liaise with clients and project teams.
• Plan design tasks aligned with procurement and construction strategies.
• Monitor design progress and quality against objectives.
• Site visits to identify constraints.
