Job summary

Rullion Limited is seeking a Civil & Structural Design Engineer for a Manchester-based hybrid role. 3 days in office, 2 days at home. ASAP start on a 6-month rolling contract, with potential 2–3 year project duration. Rate £50-£60 per hour outside IR35.

The ideal candidate will deliver design and coordination for electrical infrastructure projects, supervise third-party design work, and ensure compliance with CDM and Building Regulations.

Qualifications

• Characterised by both civil and structural design experience.
• Awareness of CDM duties and UK Building Regulations.
• Experience with multidisciplinary design and coordination.

Responsibilities

• Own a design and design coordination package from Commercial Transfer to Practical completion.
• Review Employer's Requirements to support early design and tender activities.
• Support procurement and construction teams to deliver technical designs.
• Produce designs using hand calculations, spreadsheets, and software when required.
• Lead design governance checks on other designers’ output.
• Ensure third-party design packages meet contract requirements and buildability needs.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and prepare scoping documents.
• Manage Scope of Works documents and design tender packages.
• Review design package content and interfaces with other disciplines.
• Assist planning of design tasks in line with procurement strategy.
• Monitor design progress, quality, and schedule adherence.
• Lead design reviews and liaise with clients, consultants, and project team.
