Job summary

McLaughlin & Harvey in the United Kingdom is seeking a dedicated Quantity Surveyor to join our civil engineering and construction teams on high-value projects.

You will manage project costs, budgets, interim valuations and final accounts, while procuring supply chain partners and certifying payments. The role requires knowledge of JCT/NEC contracts, strong commercial acumen, excellent communication, and willingness to travel to site.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified with civil engineering/construction background.
• Experience in civil engineering construction projects.
• Knowledge of JCT and NEC forms of contract.
• Strong commercial awareness.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Good organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Willingness to travel to site.

Responsibilities

• Manage project costs, contractual obligations and change processes.
• Prepare budgets, interim valuations and final accounts.
• Cost forecasting and supporting value engineering initiatives.
• Procurement of supply chain partners and certification of subcontract payments.
• Prepare Extension of Time claims and Loss and Expense submissions when required.
• Maintain robust commercial documentation and contract compliance (JCT/NEC).
• Develop positive relationships and support governance, quality and safety practices.
