Job summary

ERSG Limited is seeking a Chartered Principal Temporary Works Engineer to lead the design and delivery of complex temporary works across gas and energy infrastructure projects. This hybrid role (3 days in office, 2 days home) is a 12-month contract with a daily rate of £400–£450, outside IR35.

You will provide engineering assurance, mentor a developing team and expand in-house capability, reducing reliance on external consultants for high-value temporary works projects.

Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status required.
• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Extensive temporary works design and management experience.
• Strong knowledge of BS 5975, Eurocodes and British Standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and technical review of temporary works solutions.
• Provide engineering governance and ensure compliance with BS 5975, Eurocodes and relevant British Standards.
• Act as the senior technical authority for complex temporary works projects.
• Support and mentor junior engineers, developing the team's capability.
• Work with clients, project teams and construction teams to deliver safe, practical solutions.
• Drive best practice in temporary works design, risk management and engineering compliance.
