Job summary

Sustainable Talent LTD is seeking a Principal Design Engineer for a 12-month contract in Warrington. You will act as the Temporary Works Design Authority, overseeing design reviews and technical submissions across complex energy projects from tender through to construction.

The role requires Chartered Engineer status, a civil or structural engineering degree, and extensive temporary works experience with leadership capabilities to mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer (CEng) with civil/structural background.
• Extensive temporary works design and management experience.
• Strong knowledge of BS 5975 and Eurocodes.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead temporary works design reviews and approvals.
• Act as the technical authority for temporary works.
• Ensure compliance with BS 5975 and engineering standards.
• Manage technical risk and engineering assurance activities.
• Support construction teams with technical guidance.
• Contribute to tender submissions and construction methodologies.

Principal Design Engineer - Temporary Works | Warrington | £650-£700/day | 12-Month Contract

I'm currently supporting a growing energy business looking to appoint a Principal Design Engineer to join their engineering team on a 12-month contract based in Warrington.

This is a key technical leadership role where you'll act as the organisation's Temporary Works Design Authority, providing engineering oversight across complex energy projects from tender phase through to construction delivery.

We're Looking For:

• Chartered Engineer (CEng)
• Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Extensive Temporary Works design and management experience
• Strong knowledge of BS 5975 and Eurocodes
• Experience reviewing complex calculations and technical submissions
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Ability to mentor and develop junior engineers
