Job summary

Halfords is seeking a Change & Release Manager within our Service & Operations team to own governance, coordination, and improvements of technology change across the business. Acting as the figurehead for Change Management and Release Management, you will ensure changes are delivered safely, efficiently, and with the right balance of control and agility in a complex retail environment.

Qualifications

• Significant experience managing Change and Release in a large enterprise.
• Expert understanding of ITIL, Change and Release Management and governance.
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to influence senior leaders.
• Experience chairing governance forums and managing competing priorities across multiple teams and programmes.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the Change Management framework with governance and risk control.
• Coordinate release planning across technology teams to minimise disruption.
• Embed change processes enabling modern ways of working with operational oversight.
• Lead governance forums and manage risks and dependencies.
• Communicate planned changes and releases to stakeholders.
• Ensure operational readiness with testing, validation and cross-functional coordination.
• Monitor change performance and identify trend improvements.
• Collaborate with Service Assurance, Incident & Resilience, Engineering and Delivery teams.
• Continuously improve practices to reduce friction while maintaining stability.
• Promote best practice and accountability across Technology and business.
