Job summary

Fulkers Bailey Russell is seeking a CDM Principal Designer to join our construction consultancy on a hybrid basis, working across residential and commercial projects. You will provide clients with comprehensive advice on health and safety and CDM, and establish a structured platform for design risk management from feasibility through to handover of the Health and Safety File.

Qualifications

• Experience as a CDM Principal Designer or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of CDM 2015 and Health & Safety legislation.
• Experience in client-facing environments.
• Ability to produce design risk management documentation.

Responsibilities

• Act as Principal Designer and ensure client duties are fulfilled under CDM 2015.
• Plan, coordinate, and manage the pre-construction phase, including F10 notifications to HSE.
• Advise clients and project teams on health and safety and design risk management.
• Ensure design team compliance with CDM 2015 and review Design Risk Assessments.
• Prepare and review pre-construction information, risk assessments, method statements, and Health & Safety Files.
• Conduct CDM site audits and monitor health and safety performance for the client.
• Attend design, site and progress meetings to support communication between contractors, designers and clients.
• Provide support to Senior Consultants on complex/high-risk projects.
• Review O&M manuals and ensure handover documentation is accurate and compliant.
• Uphold health and safety standards and support environmental and social impact.
