Job summary

Confidential is an established accountancy and tax advisory firm seeking an experienced Bookkeeper / Management Accountant to join a collaborative team. You will manage day-to-day bookkeeping, prepare management accounts, and support VAT and CIS submissions while developing your cloud accounting skills.

You will review junior work, liaise with clients, visit sites as needed, and benefit from hybrid working, study support, and a clear progression path within a modern practice.

Qualifications

• Recent bookkeeping experience within an accountancy practice or outsourced finance environment.
• Experience preparing and submitting VAT returns and reconciling control accounts.
• AAT qualification or strong experience gained in practice.
• Xero certification and confidence using cloud accounting software.
• Excellent communication skills with a client-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping for a varied client portfolio using Xero.
• Process invoices and complete bank reconciliations.
• Review bookkeeping work prepared by junior team members.
• Reconcile control accounts and post payroll journals.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns across VAT schemes and CIS returns.
• Act as a key point of contact for client queries and submissions.
