Job summary

Clear Legal & Financial Recruitment is assisting a growing UK accountancy practice to recruit an experienced Senior Bookkeeper. The role manages a varied client portfolio, supports development of junior team members and maintains robust bookkeeping from journals to trial balances.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of bookkeeping in a UK practice, strong VAT skills, and proficiency in Xero, Sage or QuickBooks. Hybrid working, annual bonus and enhanced benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years' hands-on bookkeeping experience.
• Experience in UK accountancy practice managing multiple clients.
• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping through to trial balance.

Responsibilities

• Managing day-to-day bookkeeping for a varied portfolio of clients.
• Maintaining accurate financial records, including journals, reconciliations and trial balances.
• Preparing and reviewing VAT returns.
• Completing balance sheet reconciliations (bank, VAT, payroll, intercompany).
• Processing bills and expenses, supplier payments and credit control.
• Supporting year-end accounts preparation.
• Assisting with software integrations and resolving client queries.
• Building strong client relationships and providing proactive service.
• Supporting and sharing knowledge with junior team members.
