Job summary

Viridien is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to implement and operate cloud architectures in client environments. The role focuses on production-grade Azure deployments, AKS-based platforms, and strong IaC practices.

You will collaborate with security and operations teams, building foundational cloud services, governance and scalable tooling. Hybrid work with North Wales or Crawley locations is offered, along with a strong compensation package.

Qualifications

• Proven track record delivering production Azure environments with networking, IAM, governance, and security controls.
• Hands-on Kubernetes implementation/operation incl. upgrade strategy, cluster security and tooling.
• Experience delivering database platforms using PaaS and VM-based approaches with backup/HA/DR.
• Strong IaC and CI/CD experience (Terraform, Bicep/ARM; Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
• Solid cloud security knowledge: RBAC/IAM, private networking, encryption, logging, policy-as-code.

Responsibilities

• Implement cloud architecture in client and internal environments, deploying production-grade systems.
• Automate cloud foundations: subscriptions, networking, identity, governance, security controls.
• Deliver Kubernetes-based platforms (AKS, EKS) with config, networking, ingress, secrets, scaling, upgrades.
• Own IaC and CI/CD pipelines, including modules, release controls, and environment promotion.
• Implement security by design: IAM/RBAC, network segmentation, encryption, logging and monitoring.
• Ensure operational readiness with observability, backup/DR, runbooks, and knowledge transfer to client teams.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across cloud, Kubernetes, and databases; contribute to reusable assets.
• Collaborate with client stakeholders to validate requirements, manage risks, and coordinate delivery windows.
