Job summary

Kier Group plc. is seeking an Associate Engineer to join the Construction Engineering team across multiple UK locations, including Birmingham, Cardiff, Leeds and London.

The role focuses on leading temporary works design, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and delivering safe, buildable engineering solutions. You will support tender activity, drive value engineering, and oversee technical design across complex projects, building strong client and in-house design-team relationships.

Qualifications

• Chartered engineer with significant experience in temporary works design.
• Experience leading complex construction engineering services.
• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and ensure technical compliance.
• Strong client and design team relationship building.
• Willingness to operate across multiple UK locations and travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead temporary works design and checking integrated with permanent works.
• Provide tender and bid support including feasibility studies and outline design schemes.
• Manage delivery of alternative solutions and value engineering opportunities.
• Oversee project teams, ensuring technical compliance and quality of design deliverables.
• Represent Kier at project meetings and coordinate with clients and design teams.
